11 April India’s national safe motherhood day. This yards theme is equity in maternal health Care : leaving no mother behind. Keeping this goal in mind, the Burdwan Sadar pyara nutrition welfare society organised varias programs in different parts of Bengal to protect the health of human mothers and mother earth. The society’s initiative was to eradicate weeds and poisonous pathanium growing in the garden area adjacent to the kitchen of kanchannagar DN Das High School, lakurdi Vidya Mandir, sadhumoti girls and Vidyarthi Bhavan girls High School, thereby making the soil pollution free and increasing soil fertility. The school authorities said that the green volunteers could not give time due to the ongoing exams and the weeds grew due to continuous rain.

The organisation also organised a decision meeting on pregnancy safety, child birth safety and post natal awareness for pregnant mothers and women aged 18 -44 from ranibagan and Konrapara. The meeting was addressed by debasish Mukherjee, a specialist from IQ City hospital in Durgapur and health expert Bipul Dutta. Baudh experts stressed the importance of regular and antenatal check ups, proper nutrition institutional delivery and timely post natal care to reduce maternal and neonatal risks. The organisations secretary proloy Majumdar said that, if the soil is not pure, all living beings on earth, including humans, will be endangered. Therefore, just as the mother earth must be kept free from pollution, the human mothers pregnancy must be protected and the bath of a healthy, strong right -weight baby must be ensured. He also said that 11 underweight pregnant mothers wires adopted from the stage of today’s program for 18th months and they were giving high protein balanced food for the first month.
